Is GTA 6 down right now?
Our status page checks Rockstar, PlayStation Network and Xbox network every 5 minutes and shows player reports. If everything is up and reports are normal, the problem is probably on your side.
Does GTA 6 need an internet connection?
Rockstar describes GTA 6 as a single-player experience. You need the internet to download it (boxed copies contain a download code) and for store licence checks. Rockstar has not detailed offline play.
Does GTA 6 have online multiplayer?
No online mode has been announced. Rockstar calls GTA 6 a single-player experience.
Do I need PlayStation Plus or Game Pass for GTA 6?
Not announced. Since there is no announced online mode, no subscription requirement has been stated for launch.
When can I pre-load GTA 6?
From local midnight on 12 November 2026, for digital pre-orders and redeemed box codes. See the launch-day guide.
What time does GTA 6 unlock?
Rockstar has not published exact unlock times per region. Launch is 19 November 2026.
How big is the GTA 6 download?
Rockstar has not announced it. The size will appear on the PlayStation Store and Xbox Store listings; any figure elsewhere is speculation.
My boxed copy has no disc. Is that normal?
Yes. GTA 6 physical copies contain a download code, not a disc. Redeem it on your console's store to download the game.
GTA 6 says I don't own it. What do I do?
Sign in with the account that bought the game, make the console your primary PS5 or Home Xbox, and restore licences. Full steps are in common issues.
The pre-load has not started. Why?
Pre-loading opens on 12 November. Check automatic downloads are on and, for boxed copies, that the code is redeemed. See pre-load not starting.
GTA 6 keeps crashing. How do I fix it?
Install the latest game and system updates, restart the console fully, and check storage. On PS5 you can rebuild the database from Safe Mode. See crash fixes.
What does PS5 error CE-108255-1 mean?
Sony says the game or app hit an error, possibly on the software side. Update the game and console first. See the error code guide.
What does Xbox error 0x803F8001 mean?
