The five launch levels
- Curious (0 to 3 points): you know GTA 6 is coming; the prep has not started.
- Countdown watcher (4 to 6): you know the date and are following the countdown.
- Pre-order ready (7 to 9): your edition is picked and your console is in shape.
- Checklist locked (10 to 12): most of the launch checklist is ticked.
- Day-one ready (13 to 16): everything is done before pre-load opens.
Key dates
Pre-loading opens on 12 November 2026 for digital pre-orders and redeemed codes from boxed copies, which hold a download code rather than a disc. The game unlocks on 19 November 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar has not published the download size or an unlock schedule, so leave generous storage free and keep the console online and signed in.
