Your launch plan: Status watcher
Watching the servers before playing. You know big launches can make stores, downloads and sign-in busy for a few hours, so you check the status before you dive in, and you know where to look when something breaks.
Your launch-week plan
- Bookmark the live status and the error codes.
- If an official status page reports a problem, wait it out rather than changing settings.
- Use the "Report a problem" button so other players can see what is going on.

The groundwork every plan shares
Whatever your plan, the groundwork in our launch-day guide and launch checklist is the same. Before 12 November, install pending system updates and free up storage; the download size has not been announced, so leave generous room. On 12 November, start the pre-load, and if you bought a boxed copy, redeem the code first. Make the console your main PS5 (Console Sharing and Offline Play) or your Home Xbox. On launch day, check for a game update before you start playing and keep the console signed in with the account that bought the game.
What is announced, and what is not
- Announced: pre-load from 12 November 2026 for digital pre-orders and redeemed codes from boxed copies, and launch on 19 November 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
- Not announced: an official unlock schedule, the download size and any day-one patch. Fan and press guides report local-midnight unlocks; treat those as unconfirmed.
- Worth knowing: boxed copies hold a download code, not a disc, so everyone downloads the full game.
About this quiz
This is an unofficial fan quiz. For problems on the night, check the live status first: it reads the official PlayStation, Xbox and Rockstar status pages every five minutes.
